“Black Tie and Barefoot: A Fairy Tale Wedding by the Sea”

After years of designing and creating dream wedding dresses for countless clients, it was finally Bianca’s turn to weave her own love story into a fairytale wedding of her own. The result was a celebration of love, elegance, and unexpected encounters that turned a business-oriented life into a real-life love story.

“In you, I’ve found the love of my life, and my closest, truest friend.” These words, lovingly embroidered onto the very end of Bianca’s wedding train, were her personal message to Marc, her now-husband.

Their wedding was an intimate and exquisitely curated affair, a far cry from the large-scale events Bianca had crafted for others over the years. It was everything she had ever dreamed of, and it brought together everyone she had ever wanted, all thanks to the man she wasn’t sure she’d ever meet.

Bianca’s life had revolved around her work for the past 15 years, her business becoming her family. Then, three years ago, she met Marc, a Johannesburg-born man who had recently returned from London and was setting up a construction firm in Durban. Their paths crossed at a South African-style braai, and after a few more meetings and dinners, she offered him temporary accommodation when he had no other options. Little did she know, he would become a permanent part of her life.

Their love story led them to “The White Pearl,” a breathtaking hotel in Mozambique, for their destination wedding.

Bianca, who had always tried on every wedding dress she designed, found herself creating a gown that was a unique reflection of her own style and personality. The dress, originally envisioned as “fairytale and poufy,” turned into a fitted, timeless, elegant, and slightly beachy masterpiece. Her talented team of artisans played a significant role in bringing her vision to life.

The dress was adorned with intricate beadwork and crystals, appliqued lace, and personalized details. The black-tie wedding saw the guests dressed in black, while Bianca herself wore her white dream gown, exquisitely embellished with handcrafted details and a three-meter-long veil with a heartfelt message for Marc.

As a long weekend destination wedding, the celebration took on different vibes for each event. The Meet ‘n’ Greet had a relaxed Boho beach atmosphere, the wedding itself was a black-tie affair, and the final night was a lively shebeen party. Bianca’s outfit for the Boho evening was adorned with 3D beadwork, and she also designed and made the dresses for her two bridesmaids and her mom.

For the wedding, they said their vows on a deck with the ocean as their backdrop, and the theme was white and gold, reflecting Bianca’s commitment to environmental consciousness.

While many wedding elements were locally sourced, some, like the flowers, were flown in from Kenya. Orchids were used abundantly, and after the wedding, they were replanted in South Africa, continuing to bloom.

Candles from Bianca’s own brand added a magical touch to the reception, and guests were gifted embroidered serviettes, creating lasting memories.

For the last night, a shebeen party was organized as per Marc’s preference. It was a festive celebration filled with local flavors and traditions.

Bianca’s mother played a pivotal role in making the wedding perfect, overseeing every detail with love and care. And with heartfelt vows embroidered into their life story, Bianca and Marc embarked on their journey of love and friendship.

This wedding was a true fairytale, a testament to love, creativity, and the magic that can happen when dreams come true.

First class. Apart from calling Nicky daily, especially closer to the wedding date, chopping and changing things, she never lost her cool once. Nicky constantly made me feel like I was the only bride she was dealing with. What will stay with me forever is how she and my husband sourced the Christian Louboutin shoes that I always wanted so desperately. I showed her pictures of the shoes and she would see what she could do ! But as the date got closer I still had nothing so, I just accepted that I would have to do with the pair I had bought. On the morning of the wedding I went out to check on my family and when I got back to my hotel room there was Nicky waiting for me, with not one but 2 pairs of shoes shipped in especially for me, so many tears and so much love. It’s a day that will stay with me forever, your kindness and attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed.
